Michael Winters, known online as "KairosTime" or just "Kairos", is a Brawl Stars content creator. His Pro Tier List series is a consistent and reputable source of information from professional Brawl Stars players. His YouTube channel can be found here.
A tier list is a way to organize different things at a glance. Different objects in the tier list are given a "grade", or "tier", and placed in that tier visually. An object will rank differently depending on the subject of the tier list.
A Pro Tier List is a tier list specifically from KairosTime's "Pro Tier List" series. Every month or couple of months, Kairos asks multiple professional Brawl Stars players for their input on every brawler in the game, and collects this information into an easily accessible tier list. I have collated his Pro Tier Lists onto this website for analysis.
A brawler is a playable character in the game Brawl Stars. All brawlers can move around the map. Each brawler has a unique attack.
A super is a unique, strong activated ability a brawler can utilize. To use their super, the brawler must fill their super meter, which in most cases, is filled by attacking the other team.
A gadget is an activated ability that the player can use to help their team. After using their gadget, it is put on cooldown, where it cannot be used again for a number of seconds. The player can choose one of two unique gadgets to equip onto their brawler before a game.
A star power is a passive ability that enhances the way a brawler is played. The player can choose one of two unique star powers to equip onto their brawler before a game.
A hypercharge is an activated ability that increases the brawler's strength, defense, and speed for 7 seconds, and enhances their super in a unique way. A hypercharge is usable after filling its meter, which is charged in the same way the brawler charges their super. Every brawler has one hypercharge.
A buffie is a passive ability enhances a brawler. There are three types of buffies: Gadget Buffies, Star Buffies, and Hyper Buffies. These buffies enhance the brawler's gadget, star power, and hypercharge respectively. All 3 buffies are automatically equipped on the brawler. As of v50, 12 out of 101 brawlers currently have buffies.
The combination of a brawler's attack, super, gadget, star power, hypercharge, and buffies is called their kit. A brawler's kit is the main factor in their strength.
A meta is the general consensus of how strong every brawler is. Powerful brawlers are at the top of the meta, and weaker brawlers are at the bottom of the meta. The strength of a brawler is called their viability.
Brawl Stars is a constantly evolving game, and the meta will shift along with it. The Pro Tier Lists showcase the competitive meta over time.
The main factor in a brawler's viability is the strength of their kit.
Brawlers will also shift in viability depending on the brawlers at the top of the meta, the current gamemodes, and the current map selection.
I give each rank a value:
S: 5
A: 4
B: 3
C: 2
D: 1
F: 0
I find the average of the numbers and get the ranking closest to the average.
The main purpose of this website is to show trends over time through Kairos's Pro Tier Lists. It serves an easy way to see how a specific brawler's viability has shifted over time, and my analysis on the Pro Tier Lists.
